Job Title: HR Officer
Location: Sea Point, Cape Town
Job Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Labour Law Compliance & Employee Relations:
- Ensure compliance with South African labour laws and regulations.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and workplace conflict resolution.
- Maintain and update company policies in line with legal requirements.
- Payroll & Benefits Administration:
- Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations.
- Handle employee benefits, leave management, and statutory contributions (UIF, PAYE, SDL, etc.).
- Collaborate with finance to ensure timely salary disbursement and deductions.
- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviews, and onboarding.
- Develop hiring strategies to attract top talent suited for a small business or startup environment.
- Maintain a talent pipeline and oversee workforce planning.
- HR Administration & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and documentation.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented effectively.
- Support performance management and training initiatives.
- Assist in creating a positive work culture and employee engagement programs.
- Support Business Growth & Strategy:
- Provide HR insights to support business decisions and growth.
- Assist management in fostering an agile and productive workforce.
- Handle ad-hoc HR projects as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, with strong exposure to South African labour laws.
- Experience handling HR functions in a startup or small business setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R35 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
