Marketing Specialist Open Market and Trade
(12-month Fixed Term Contract position)
Oxford University Press is looking for a strategic thinker with a passion for branding to join our marketing team as a Marketing Specialist. In this role, youll develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance brand awareness and market positioning, analyse market trends and consumer behavior, and ensure consistency in brand messaging and identity across all channels. Focusing on quintile 4 and 5 government schools, private schools and trade/ booksellers, the Marketing Specialist will plan and manage campaigns end to end, monitor and report on the performance of tactics, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive execution. These efforts facilitate the sales teams objective of achieving revenue targets and increasing Oxfords market share in the South African “Open Market”.
The Marketing Specialist will be reporting to the Marketing Project Manager. This post is based in Goodwood, Cape Town.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Effective strategic planning and management of marketing plans for Open Market and Trade sector.
- Conceptualise and create awareness of OUP brand with suitable print and digital marketing collateral.
- Management of external events such as planning conferences and exhibitions, product launches and events.
- Implementation of Annual Thought Leadership plan to support Open Market and Trade Sectors.
- Maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage budget costs effectively.
- National Diploma in Marketing or anything equivalent
- Significant experience in educational marketing
- Knowledge of marketing theories and fundamentals of marketing strategies
- Project management
- Experience in event coordination
- SAP, MS Office, Canva, Adobe experience
- Drivers licence (Code B)
Skills & Knowledge
- Market research, public relations, copy writing, proofreading, project management, event coordination, marketing stock management, educational sector knowledge, printing & design terminology and processes, report writing, presentation skills, SAP, data list management and data capturing, MS office including Excel and basic PowerBI, budget planning, monitoring and control.
