Payroll Officer(Permanent)
We are recruiting for a dynamic dedicated Payroll Officer to advance the People Agenda by fostering strong, credible relationships and providing essential support. This role requires confidence in managing daily payroll issues, collaborating closely with the leadership team to drive change, and offering sound, commercially viable advice on salaries, payroll processes, and relevant legislation.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the HR Business Partner. This post is based in Goodwood.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Manage the full payroll processing cycle for South Africa and Kenya payroll.
- Reconcile payroll and related expenses per policy.
- Issue payroll documentation such as IRP5, payslips, UI19
- Manage freelancer weekly payroll.
- Manage and provide efficient administration of all benefits such as pension fund, group life, disability and medical aid.
- Monitoring and implementing changes in payroll-related legislation to ensure all practices are up-to-date and legally compliant.
- Conducting regular audits of payroll processes and records to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
- Complete and submit statutory returns
- Preparing and submitting statutory reports and filings, such as tax returns and all statutory deductions (UIF, SDL, COIDA, NSSF, NHIF, Stats SA and PAYE).
Qualifications and Experience
- Human Resource or Payroll qualification is essential
- 5 years or more experience of payroll and benefits
- Working knowledge of SA legislation, Tax laws, international payroll processing and international tax laws
- Proficient in MS suite (Advance Excel is essential)
- SAP experiences advantageous
- Experience working on Accsys and or any payroll system
