A permanent vacancy exists for a Phlebotomist - Donor Collections, (Grade B5)

Purpose of the Job

• Screening of Donor
• Phlebotomy procedure
• All Donor Attendant duties - Clinic Reception and Blood Collection

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate in Phlebotomy Techniques
• 1-2 years Phlebotomy experience is essential
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
• Previous Blood Transfusion experience would be an added advantage
• Computer Literate
• Reliable transport
• The working hours are variable i.e. shift basis including weekends
• A code 08 drivers licence without endorsements

A combination of the following skills, knowledge and attributes is required:

• Good interpersonal skills
• Have a friendly disposition and willingness to “go the extra mile”
• Accuracy in data collection
• Fully multilingual
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• Skilled in customer services and the ability to deal with the public
