Restaurant Manager
- Oversee the daily operations of our renowned restaurant, ensuring impeccable service and exceptional dining experiences.
- Assist, lead and inspire a team of servers, and support staff to uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
- Manage restaurant reservations, seating arrangements, and guest inquiries to optimize seating capacity and guest satisfaction.
- Assist in monitoring and controlling operating costs and expenses while maximizing revenue opportunities.
- Manage the upselling of guest experiences and motivate their teams to do the same.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic dining environment.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues promptly to ensure positive guest experiences.
Other Duties
- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.
- To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
- In this role you will also be required to multi-task in various aspects of the operations as advised by your managers from time to time
- To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
- To read the hotels Employee Handbook, have an understanding of and adhere to the hotels rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- To comply with local legislation as required.
- To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
- To be flexible in your job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you, including redeployment to other departments/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.
- To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Senior certificate (essential)
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar supervisory role in a high-end dining establishment for a minimum of 3 years.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Hospitality
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and trends.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Wine experience and certification will be an advantage (WSET, SA Sommeliers Association, Cape Wine Academy, ASI, Court of Master Sommeliers).
