A renowned international engineering company is looking for a ‘SHE Coordinator to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in the Somerset West, Cape Town.

Position Overview:

• Oversee and implement the companys comprehensive Health, Safety and Environmental policies and practices across the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, driving continuous improvement, initiatives and promoting strong safety culture throughout all departments within the organization.
• Implement and Monitor the companys Integrated HSE Management System (ISO 45001:2018 /ISO 14001:2015) - Implement SHE Policies, Procedures and Programs
• Service Suppliers / Contractors Management: Approve contractor safety files upon site entry.
• Monitor Contractors on site to ensure legal compliance.
• Risk Assessments - Conduct thorough risk assessments with Line Management to identify potential hazards and develop control measures to mitigate the risks. Update Risk Register
• Overseeing internal and external HSE audit programs: Schedule, perform and participate in audits/ third party/certification audits.
• Investigate/ coordinate the investigation of accidents and incidents: Implement corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. Completion of Incident Investigation Documentation.
• Training and Awareness: Identify staff training to support HSE Management objectives.
• SHE Responsibility & Accountability: Manage SHE Appointment register by means of appointments, competency and executing of responsibilities.
• SHE Inspections: Perform safety inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures.
• Emergency Management: Maintain the companys emergency response plan.
• Implement Safe Systems to work for Hazardous Work Activities (Permit to work system /Hot Work in hazardous areas, etc.)
• Occupational Health Services: Monitor Medical Surveillance program.
• Overseeing the Workmens Compensation process: Reporting and documenting.
• Facilitate legal compliance with applicable HSE requirements, by maintaining the legal register.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities on behalf of the company. (Department of Labor)
• SHE System Documentation Ensure SHE Managements System Document control process is followed and maintained.

Environmental:

• Manage Resource Conservation Management Programs to reduce the Environmental impact of facility operations, including waste reduction, energy conservation and sustainable practices.
• Manage Waste Management Program: Management of General Wate / Hazardous Waste on site.
• Environmental Risks: Monitor Environmental Impact Assessment.
• Legal Compliance: Monitor of Environmental Compliance

Position Requirements:

• NOSA SAMTRAC (Certified Course)
• Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (Certified Course)
• Incident Investigation (Certified Course)
• Manufacturing Operational experience
