SHE Officer

As our new SHE Officer, you will develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that ensure a safe, legally compliant, and high performing, working environment.

You will drive our Zero Harm safety culture, actively working on risk reduction, and drive continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental, through effective implementation and maintenance of processes and systems.

Some of your key responsibilities:

  • You will ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHACT, Local Bylaws and National Regulations)
  • Youll conduct risk assessments, daily Gemba walks, workplace inspections, and safety audits to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions & ensure overall site compliance.
  • You will investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace accidents, implementing preventive measures. Prompt analysis of safety opportunities to ensure safety risks are actioned, hence improving on staff and site safety.
  • Youll ensure permits, licences and certificates are current and compliant whilst ensuring applications are made in advance before they expire.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • You hold an accredited SHE qualification whilst also being SAMTRAC qualified.
  • Direct working experience and management of company-wide electronic management system.
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing staff training programmes.
  • You have solid knowledge and understanding of safety systems such as permit to work, process safety, risk assessments & management of change.
  • Youre approachable and transparent in supporting staff with SHE related queries.
