Stores Assistant

Job Advert Summary

Supreme Processing has an opportunity available for a Stores Assistant in the Dry Goods Store department.

The purpose of the position is to provide support in the production and maintenance stores by supplying stock for production and ensure stock is sufficient for daily production. The successful candidate will report to the Stores Manager.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1-2 years previous stores experience
  • Ability to do basic numerical calculations.
  • Minimum Qualification - Grade 12.
  • Valid forklift licence.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive the deliveries, check invoices/delivery notes against purchase orders
  • Allocate stock received to racks or floor space in the store.
  • Ensure that stock rotation is done before picking (Follow FEFO/FIFO procedure Replenish stock levels on shelves and pallets in main stores.
  • Ensure that work areas are kept clean and neat
  • Be attentive to production stock needs.
  • Ensure Health & Safety rules and regulations are complied with in working area
  • Ensure that all stock issues are recorded correctly in the requisition book i.e., Product Code, Description, Quantity, Batch number, Balance of stock after issue.
  • Ensure that pallets are always kept neat and tidy
  • Report damages and check the expiry dates
  • Work as part of a team and assist your co employees
  • Assist with stock take.
  • Ad hock tasks as required to do so by management from time to time
  • Ensure housekeeping in and around stores is maintained according to standard.
