KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform all quality inspection work as required for Light, Medium and Heavy Commercial Trucks. Inspect and record all defects on appropriate Quality records. Check all repairs and confirm acceptance by signature on appropriate record as part of the Quality record keeping process.
· Report any safety-critical truck assembly items to the assembly and quality leadership team and suggest improvement. Be able to conduct training on safety-critical items for assembly fitment for all truck models. Continually provide solutions or input for improvement on technical issues found during inspection.
· Responsible for analysis and solution of any technical/ mechanical/ electrical issues during inspection or road test and follow-up on repair process and record keeping. Attention to detail by maintaining records of all trucks being inspected. Organize and manage vehicle first-off checks.
· Organize and manage underbody and dynamic road test inspections daily.
· Attend daily quality feedback meetings and be able to present quality information to high-level leadership.
· Accomplish all tasks given by supervisor/team leader on time, every time.
· Ensure all quality processors are always being adhered to. Be actively involved during the truck build process at relevant quality gates. Be target-driven and able to work with other team members and minimum supervision.
· Advise and guide the assembly team during the build process to reduce quality defects. Conduct quality audits on all truck models. Understand and read technical drawings/ assembly instructions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Matric
· Certification in quality control (such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) is preferred but not mandatory.
· Minimum 5 years.
· Code 14/EC license. Relevant certificate/s
· Certification in quality control (such as ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) is preferred but not mandatory.
· Proven experience as a quality inspector within the automotive industry, preferably with a focus on trucks or commercial vehicles.
· In-depth knowledge of quality control standards and methodologies applicable to the automotive sector.
