Overview
An opportunity exists for a Mid-Level Interior Designer to join a multidisciplinary team creating world-class, experiential hospitality and lifestyle spaces. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing interior design concepts that merge creativity with functionality, sustainability, and storytelling.
The role offers exposure to bespoke, high-end international projects in remote destinations and luxury hospitality settings. Its ideal for a designer who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about crafting immersive, human-centered interiors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of interior architecture and design projects from concept to completion.
- Produce detailed interior layouts, elevations, 3D visualizations, and FF&E documentation using Autodesk Revit.
- Collaborate closely with architectural, procurement, and project management teams to ensure design intent and material selections align with overall project vision.
- Research and source finishes, furnishings, lighting, and materials appropriate for the projects aesthetic, budget, and location.
- Assist in the preparation of client presentations, mood boards, and design reports using the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Contribute to design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and project workshops.
- Ensure all design deliverables are completed on schedule and to the highest professional standards.
- Maintain design documentation and coordinate with suppliers and contractors as required.
Requirements
- Qualification: Undergraduate Degree in Interior Design (or equivalent).
- Experience: 34 years post-qualification experience in an interior design or architectural practice.
- Software Proficiency:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Autodesk Revit (non-negotiable)
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong conceptual design ability and creative problem-solving.
- Excellent spatial awareness and detailing skills.
- A passion for experiential and narrative-driven design.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Other Requirements:
- South African Citizen or valid South African work permit.
- Valid passport (for potential international travel).
