To support the faculty and department in pursuit of its academic, administration and research objectives which include: teaching according to a set syllabus; undertake projects, research and innovation; perform academic administration, contribute to curriculum development and design; engage in work integrated learning, and service learning activities.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A Masters Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related discipline in Computing Science

(The candidate must obtain all the undergraduate underpinning qualification within the field of study)

• At least two (2) years relevant Higher Education lecturing experience

Recommendations:

• The candidate must show expertise in several of the following technologies relating to Multimedia namely:

Graphics and Video Editing Tools New Media Development and Editing; Web Scripting with the CSS Design Frameworks and JavaScript Ecosystem; Web Development with JavaScript Frameworks; User-Centered Design (UXD), Human and Computer Interaction

• Knowledge of Database Design and Web Servers will be an added advantage.
• Evidence of Technical portfolio on platforms like Github, Gitlab or Bitbucket will be an added advantage
• Teaching experience in higher education especially in the area of multimedia would be advantageous

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Lecturing subjects within the IT curriculum to undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Participate in Curriculum development, Courseware development and assessment
• Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department
• Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department
• Participate in research: managing undergraduate research projects
• Contribute to community initiatives by integrating community interventions into curriculum
• Promotion of Community Participation and Linkages
• Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies on co-operative education, new techniques/technologies and research projects
• Assist with marketing and recruitment activities; contributes to the planning for “Open Day”, Attends Open Day and provides Information on Faculty courses
• Personal/ Professional Development
• Safety/ management: Ensures compliance with safety rules
• Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
