Assistant Finance Officer

This is remote, self-employed role for a UK based company requiring UK based hours , to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the Finance Inbox: Manage and monitor the finance inbox, ensuring timely and accurate responses as the first point of contact in the finance department.
  • Daily Banking Journals: Post banking journals on a daily basis, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Revenue Reconciliation: Perform daily revenue reconciliation to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
  • Income Audit: Conduct daily income audits to verify the accuracy of recorded revenues and identify any irregularities.
  • Cashflow Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of cashflow forecasts, providing insights and updates as needed.
  • Month-End Duties:
  • Prepare and complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Reconcile and post intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Expense Management: Process expense claims and reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment collections.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and answering queries.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and controls to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform other related duties and projects as assigned to support the finance team.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance and accounting.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ethics and Integrity: High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Increase after probation period has been successfully concluded.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R19 000,00 - R24 700,00 per month

Education:

  • Diploma (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Accounts Management: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Financial reconciliation: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Expense Management: 1 year (Preferred)
