Butchery Supervisor

A well-established Retail store is seeking a Butchery Supervisor.

Duties:

• The responsibilities of this position include overseeing the departments operations, ensuring food safety, overseeing product preparation, dealing with the suppliers and vendors, carrying out inventory, and performing customer service
• Supervises activities of staff, staff carry out instructions. Conducts follow ups. Work done correctly Disciplining staff accordingly
• Resolves staff problems and issues.
• Arranges for trains new staff and coaches and supports existing staff
• Good Inventory Control
• Stock takes done weekly
• Fresh meat on display
• Expired meat must be removed from the shelves
• Arranges for drawing of stock from cold room
• Conducts scans on stock
• Duty rosters done weekly
• Production list issued daily
• Temperature files up to date and cleaning schedule followed
• Checks time sheets for correctness
• Health and Hygiene
• Monitors that personal health and hygiene standards are maintained
• General housekeeping is maintained
• Drafts cleaning schedules. Clean equipment and shelves
• Enforces cleaning schedule with staff. Cleaning done daily
• Conduct follow up checks on temperature files and checks done by staff.
• Maintain growth and gp budget achieved

Desired Experience & Qualification

• The successful candidate must have:
• Must have matric
• Blockman
• At least 3 years experience as a Butchery Supervisor in a customer centric environment.
• Basic knowledge of first aid will be advantageous.
• Meat Industry Experience.
• Knowledge of butchery hygiene and safety standards.
• Knowledge of meat cuts/product
