Electrical Textbook Author

Location: Remote Contract Type: Part-time About us We are a publishing company specialising in educational materials for TVET colleges in South Africa. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Heavy Current Electrical expert to develop textbooks aligned with the TVET curriculum. Job description The selected author will: Develop Heavy and Light Current Electrical textbooks for TVET colleges, ensuring alignment with DHETs QCTO, NCV and Nated standards. Write clear, structured, and engaging content that simplifies complex electrical concepts. Include diagrams, illustrations, and step-by-step explanations (working with our design team). Ensure compliance with South African electrical codes and health and safety regulations. Work closely with editors and subject matter experts to refine content. Meet project deadlines and respond to editorial feedback. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher in electrical engineering (heavy current). Trade test certification as an electrician (advantageous). Experience: Minimum 3-5 years working in the heavy current electrical engineering industry. Minimum 3-5 years teaching experience at a TVET college or similar institution. Previous experience writing training manuals, study guides, or textbooks would be advantageous. Skills: Strong technical writing and communication skills. Ability to structure complex topics into easy-to-understand content. Knowledge of South African electrical standards and regulations. Ability to manage time effectively and meet strict project deadlines. Attention to detail and adherence to company quality and formatting standards.
