Junior Product Owner

As a Junior Product Owner, you will play a key role in driving the evolution of Hellopay products and services, ensuring they deliver exceptional value to our merchants and stakeholders. This individual will serve as the voice of the customer, gather and prioritize requirements, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, market-leading financial solutions.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS/PERSONAL COMPETENCIES

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with financial software and systems.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and documentation.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and propose solutions in a proactive and efficient manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma/Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a tech-driven environment
• Experience in the financial services, payments, or POS hardware/software industry is a strong advantage

• Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders, users, and the development team.
• Own the product backlog: create, prioritise, and refine user stories based on business needs and value.
• Gather input from merchants, sales teams, support, and partners to inform product decisions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
• Work with developers and UX/UI designers to ensure features meet acceptance criteria and customer expectations.
• Define and track key product metrics, helping ensure product goals are met.
• Assist in go-to-market planning and user training for new feature rollouts.
• Stay informed on market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in POS and fintech.
• Managing system downtimes and issues.
• 3rd party management and reporting.
