Job Advert Summary

Harvey Roofing Products is looking for a candidate that will be willing to perform regular visits to the plant. the successful candidate will be expected to get their hands dirty due to the nature of the business. Preference will be given to individuals that has prior experience in a paint manufacturing environment and at least 10 years in a mangerial position.

Minimum Requirements
  • NQF Level 7 / 3 Year degree/ Advanced Diploma
  • 10 years Management experience
  • 5 years experience essential
  • 3 years operational experience advantageous
  • Experience in Paint Manufacturing Industry
  • Technical experience essential
  • Section 15(2) or Section 8(1) legal appointments
  • Drivers license Code B; Motor vehicle license
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook, SAP, Document Management System
Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Management:

  • Ensure that all Quality Assurance related activities are complied with.
  • Implement, maintain and oversee Quality Management Systems activities, such as ISO 9001: 2015 / Technical and industry specification requirements, mandatory regulations (governing bodies) and customer specifications.
  • Initiate plan, perform and coordinate internal and external quality audits. Submit audit reports with findings to the management team. Ensure corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Prepare and submit relevant support documentation to external requirements. Implement audit findings within determined timeframes.
  • Develop, implement, control and monitor all quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the coordination of annual internal and external stakeholder satisfaction surveys. Submit reports to management team.

Quality Control Management:

  • Report on the performance on the Quality Management System and recommend areas of improvement.
  • Raise relevant non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure NCRs are addressed adequately.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement remedial actions where required.
  • Analyse trends and performances.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure specifications are enforced and irregularities are rectified timeously.
  • Compile quality control plans based on customer specific or technical requirements.
  • Ensure all measuring, inspection and testing equipment and devices are issued, calibrated and maintained and registers updated.
  • Ensure all inspection requirements are adhered to from receiving to dispatch.
  • Ensure all onsite inspections are conducted and recommend remedial actions where necessary.
  • Ensure all non-conformances are identify and resolved.
  • Ensure all statistical techniques are implemented.
  • Co-ordinate claims and ensure timely close-out and resolution.

Technical:

  • Evaluate testing requirements from customers.
  • Ensure all non-standard services or products are evaluated, captured and approved or not approved and relevant feedback is provided to internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Ensure and assist in the design of new products in line with customer or industry specifications.
  • Assist in change initiatives in terms of new parameters, such as new product lines, equipment and machinery.
  • Investigate product failures and recommend remedial actions.

Stakeholder Relations:

  • Provide specialised technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
  • Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals. Implement remedial actions where required.

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organisational standards, policies and procedures within span of control and monitor implementation to ensure full compliance.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures. Ensure remedial actions is implemented timeously to address non-conformances. Ensure effective and regular communication of new statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures to ensure full awareness amongst employees and contractors.
  • Ensure all practices are aligned with company SHE policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure all risk assessments are conducted and updated.
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are investigated and corrective measures are implemented.
